Vincent Shaughnessy has been carving for more than twenty-one years, following in the footsteps of his great grandfather; master carver Arthur Shaughnessy.

Vincent apprenticed under the highly respected Kwakwaka’wakw artist Tony Hunt Sr. He was one of eight carvers chosen to create the ceremonial big house in Alert Bay, carving the totem poles, and painting the house front. He has also helped to produce three canoes, fourteen totem poles and countless masks that our held in collections around the world.
